Cornfield has begun work on a participatory live video/dance installation piece to be presented in public spaces. The installation will be a small room, constructed of paneled screens with projected video images interactive with the movements of the audience as they pass through the piece. These images will include material taped in 1999 (on the beach at Coney Island, on the Staten Island Ferry, and other outdoor locations) and material taped of Cornfield’s most recent work, Dance for a Small Room. The installation will be set in public spaces. The goal is to offer multiple experiences for the audience, educating, initiating and enticing new members into the world of dance.
