Karen Young has designed costumes for numerous dance companies and contemporary video artists. Her design work for dance is in the repertories of the Martha Graham Dance Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Kyle Abraham, Brian Brooks, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Third Rail Projects, the Paul Taylor Dance Company, ABT, Ballett Basel, Karole Armitage, Pam Tanowitz, Malpaso Dance, and she recently designed Wendy Whelan's show "Restless Creature". She often collaborates with visual artists and has designed the costumes for the video works of Eve Sussman, Michelle Handelman, Matthew Barney's “Cremaster 5” and “Cremaster 1”, and David Michalek's large-scale outdoor video installations “Slow Dancing” and “Portraits in Dramatic Time” (Lincoln Center Festival). karenyoungcostume.com. *image to come*
