Sarah Cecilia Bukowski is a New York-based freelance dancer and writer. She has performed with the Metropolitan Opera, Merce Cunningham Trust, Oregon Ballet Theatre, San Francisco Opera, Amy Seiwert’s Imagery, Oakland Ballet, the Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble, and project-based work in the New York and San Francisco Bay Area communities. Her credits encompass a diverse repertory in ballet and modern dance, world premiere contemporary dance works, dance films, performance art, video art installations, and interdisciplinary artistic collaborations. As a writer, Sarah has contributed criticism, essays, features, and interviews to Dance Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, The Dance Enthusiast, Fjord Review, Time Out New York, and AGMAzine, among others. She currently holds a Dance Research Fellowship with the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts Jerome Robbins Dance Division.
