“Squaring into Space,” created in fall 2020, is a playful and robust dance work choreographed for performance in large alternative spaces both outdoors and indoors, with a mix of athletic, elegant and pedestrian material designed to hold the eye and animate these outsized venues. Driven by a full-throttle dance language, contrasting and layered movement activities boldly showcase the dancers cavorting on and around a set of eight bright red folding chairs. This piece celebrates resiliency through the joy of movement.

The musical score by composer Andreas Brade wraps the dance in luscious sounds – a woven aural tapestry including a lone line of cello and the chirps of birds and insects. The costumes were designed and curated by the Artistic Director and Choreographer herself, Ellen Cornfield!
